Just randomly came accorss your blog. Have to say Shiba Inu would be a great choice as I and my bf own one too. They are the cutest thing you can ever imagine and yeah, they stay small and cute for their entire life.
I own a Shiba Inu, who is now 11 years old and looks pretty much like the image posted above. There are several interesting traits to these dogs that you should know about. 1) They are incredibly child tolerant. My dog has taken all the innocent abuse my son and daughter could dish out and not once has he ever so much as whimpered, let alone snapped. 2) They almost never bark. Generally, only when startled by some as yet unidentified noise in the dark. 3) Though they shed generally twice a year, coat maintenance is minimal. 4) They can be very, VERY aloof and should never be let off their leash in anything by a secure, fenced in yard. 5) Very much a family dog, rather than being a one owner type critter. Social and engaging, they love attention and play time, so be prepared to supply that if you want a happy dog.
